Our Impact
in Yukon

Our vision is to establish Yukon as a hub for technology and innovation in the North, attracting and retaining talent, and driving economic growth for the benefit of all Yukoners.

Our Programs

Grants, Advisory, and Cohort-based support for the local tech community.

2022-2025

As the program delivery partner for Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED) and the Canadian Northern Economic Development Agency (CanNor) in Yukon, we provided a $5,000 grant + bespoke e-commerce advisory services to help businesses advance their digital transformation, marketing, and SEO efforts.

126 businesses from Whitehorse, Carcross, Faro, Dawson City, Mayo, and Haines Junction participated. Of those, 91 completed grant projects and the program employed two dedicated e-commerce advisors.

2025

Supported 11 companies in a delegation to showcase northern innovation.

Yukon companies at Web Summit 2025

2023-2026

Delivered in partnership with New Ventures BC, the program provides strategic intellectual property (IP) advisory services along with up to $60,000 in funding to help offset the cost of working with a legal service provider to develop their IP strategy, build IP-related assets, pursue patent, trademark, and copyright registration. As of December 2025, 6 businesses have been approved for grant projects, and we have hosted 10 IP-focused workshops.

Mo Fellah, Tutred
Mo Fellah Tutred

Mo has participated in three Tech Yukon programs - Web Summit Vancouver, AccelerateIP (AIP), and the Tech Yukon Digital Adoption (TYDA) Program, each contributing to Tutred’s growth in different ways. Web Summit Vancouver expanded Mo’s network across clients, partners, investors, and founders. While no immediate deals closed, the experience helped him refine how he qualifies conversations and ask more strategic questions. The event also sparked investor discussions that are still ongoing and led to connections with venture capitalists through a concurrent AMII event. While he was in Vancouver, Tech Yukon also connected Tutred to the Trade Commissioner Service, which later opened the door to the Canadian AI Market Accelerator and Trade Mission to Seattle, which enabled him to gain access into some new higher-education institutions.

His advice to future attendees: Make full use of the app to research potential people that you want to connect with and arrange meetings before the conference. Being more intentional with your networking leads to better connections. Also, go out for as many evening afterparties as possible, it's a lot easier to connect with hard to reach people that are more protective of their time there as they are more casual at these events.

AccelerateIP strengthened Tutred’s IP foundation, helping Mo refine his understanding through case studies and peer learning alongside founders at varying stages of IP maturity. Program funding was directed toward patent preparation, an IP audit, and improved documentation.

Through TYDA, Tutred enhanced their platform’s transaction experience by adding more payment options and increasing lesson flexibility, allowing students to extend sessions without purchasing entirely new lessons. All three programs have acted as a catalyst for long-term growth, stronger networks, and more scalable operations.
