About our Speakers:

Robert Atwood

Robert Atwood is the CEO and Co-Founder of Fire AI. As an entrepreneur and former firefighter, he has spent his career building tools and solutions designed to increase information access for firefighters, fire managers and decision makers. He is passionate about the way new technologies can better inform decision making, safety and public expenditure.

 

Dr. Lee Bess

Dr. Lee Bess holds a PhD in Insect Biology from the University of Illinois, an MS in Plant Biology from the University of Missouri. During their 20-year career in biological science, Lee has worked as university faculty, as a federal government entomologist, and collaborated with private companies focused on insect growth or control. Currently, Lee is the Chief Insect Officer at the Ontario tech startup Bug Mars, and is training AI models to interpret and predict the behavior of insects with the goal of making insect farming more humane and accessible
