This week, we gathered local entrepreneurs to discuss the use of technology to streamline their processes and improve their businesses.

This panel discussion was facilitated by Selene Vakharia, who is an entrepreneur and strategist themself. They were joined by Peter Wright of Taurus Coaching, Xina Cowan of EntrepreNorth and Kym Rempel of Anto Yukon. Coming from different types of businesses, they were each able to offer unique perspectives and advice for integrating technology into your business plans.

Peter emphasized the importance of looking forward to what your business will need down the line and to beware of the tendency to try to save money in the beginning by launching with cheaper programs that will be limiting as your business grows. Working with entrepreneurs in communities across Northern Canada, Xina has found the development of technology, including building their own app, essential to keeping her clients connected. Kym adopted digitally first and then moved into a brick and mortar store space and she shared the importance of doing extensive research on the types of businesses you want to emulate.

The formal presentation was followed by an engaged networking session where attendees were able to speak directly with the presenters about their business while enjoying catering from Wood Street Ramen and La Petite Maison. Thank you to everyone who joined us for this insightful Lunch and Learn session!
